We checked out the Giants game after JK gave me his tickets because he had to attend a family event. We had some great seats and got to see a great game. First there was the remembrance of Sue Burns. Then, Barry Bonds made an appearance (caught one of the 1st pitches from Mrs. Burns' daughters). Then Lincecum has a great complete game start fanning 15. Fantastic!

Two Thumbs Up
Dinner at La Briciola
After hitting up the Hotel Utah for happy hour on Wednesday, we headed over to La Briciola and had a fantastic dinner with MH and EP. The fagottini appetizer and lamb ragu main course were delicious and reasonably priced. The wine was very good and our service was great! Definitely going back!! Afterwards, MH and I hit up Orson for some cocktails!

Great story about Heath Ledger
Jim Rose and Jake Roberts
Whitey, Desi, and Lucy and I went to the worst show in history. I was intrigued to see Jake "the Snake" Roberts in action at DNA Lounge on Thursday. But, all hopes of a good show quickly disintegrated after (1) there was no ring set up, (2) a band played for about an hour, and (3) way too much talking by everyone. It was called a "circus" and appropriately so!

Crazy Indian Ride at the Fair
Of course, the lamest ride at the fair had to be something with all the Indian statues and teepee in it! We can't even catch a break at the county fair! It looks like one of the warriors is trying to use a speaker to DJ music. Also, on the same ride, there was this other statue of a guy lurking around the Raging River Indian ride with a baseball bat. I guess they are really serious about people paying to get on the ride and being tall enough!
Giants County Fair
It was Brian Wilson bobblehead day and the crowd lining up to get into the game and get their fabulous toy. I couldn't believe that the line stretched all the way to McCovey Cove! When we turned the corner to the fair, the line to get in was just a LITTLE smaller! Actually, we walked right in for free. We got some delicious donut holes, but we were actually too early for the corndogs. Even though it was free, we got robbed!!

Bohemian Club wants to cut down the redwoods
I read this very interesting story in Vanity Fair today about the Bohemian Club based out of San Francisco and their attempts to cut down some of the oldest trees in the Redwood Forest. After reading this story, I'm at a loss to understand why they would want to carry out this action as it seems as though it just enhances the chance of a fire. If it's about $$ just raise the dues of these guys!! Also, I don't understand why Supreme Court nominee Sotomayor had to give up her membership to the female-only club whereas the members of the Bohemian Club include(d) people like GHW Bush and former Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren. Doesn't seem at all fair. What is it about this club?!

Birthday and 4th of July
Spent a day by the pool and then left to meet up with KH and his wife at the W Hotel for some champagne and to celebrate their birthdays. We hadn't seen them in awhile and we hope to plan a trip to Santa Cruz some weekend to visit them. We then went to G and R's for their annual 4th of July party. We had a some great views of the fireworks from their rooftop! Then stopped by E Tutto Quo for an afterparty bite to eat with D and L. What a great day!!
