LB's Bday at La Trappe

La Trappe was the setting for a sweet little party for LB's birthday courtesy of KH. I was stunned that MB actually showed up, but it didn't last long as they left pretty early to get ready for their other party. So, the rest of us moseyed on over to The International to whoop some punks that thought they knew how to play pool. JL and I were rocking until about midnight - I think he might still be there.

Here's a pic after KL won some movie tickets from a drawing at the Meko Fundraiser that was held at Passion Cafe. She was so excited! We definitely have to go back to that restaurant - especially to hang out on the upstairs patio!

Castro Chili Cook Off

You never know what to expect when the entertainment comes out to perform at a party in the Castro! Too bad we missed most of the chili!

I went to an LLS fundraiser being hosted at an A's-Giants game and saw this sign over one of the entrances. I really hope they can get back there soon! And throw in a new stadium or two while they're at it!

Birth of Impressionism

KL and I went to a pre-showing of the new de Young exhibit. Amazing and very impressive! I can't wait to go again!

Asian Heritage Street Fair

MB and I wandered around the Asian Street Fair and took in some sights including the new statue outside City Hall, some very cool Muay Thai kickboxing kids, and some big sign about Warren Buffet's computer.

This picture is a computer (obviously a supercomputer) simulated image of what I would look like as a neanderthal (via Smithsonian). I might have to try growing a beard! But, with my genetics, it will probably take me 20 years.

Bacon Hot Sauce

This sauce might be my new favorite. It does taste great on breakfast home fries! But, it definitely doesn't replace the requirement for real bacon.

Bday Party at Charanga

Numb Nutz turned 36 yearls old this year and we threw him a party befitting his name. I just wish we had ordered more food for Sasha and her friends. I think they were still starving at the end!

Mrs. Newsom gave a very nice presentation of her upcoming movie at the Commonwealth Club this week.

Mad Hatter Party

I'm not sure what was more fun, getting ready for the party or the actual party. I think we had a sweet ensemble of characters for the Mad Hatter party and the amount of effort everybody put into it was awesome. I'll remember the great costumes, what a pain it was getting that huge mushroom up into the clubhouse, our honorees, the caterer, the auction, and the generosity of our friends. It was a great way to kick off the 2nd half of our fundraising efforts.
