Lunch at Martha's
We stopped off in Sebastopol on our way to Sonoma to take a break and check out the downtown area. I was really in the mood for some Mexican food and we stumbled across this great little place called Martha's Old Mexican Grille. They had an awesome little patio out back and the food was fresh and fantastic.

Anniversary Lunch at River's End
We got a great recommendation last night from someone dining at the Timber Cove to go for lunch at River's End near Jenner. And, when we got there, she was sitting at the bar! So, we joined her and had one of the best bloody mary's ever made by Patrick who told us the secret ingredient is lemon pepper from the midwest. The entire lunch was superb!

Packing up and Timber Cove Inn Arrival
Our little buddy Indy made his desire to tag along on our trip known as we were packing up. But, he and Franky were going to be in good hands with LG while we were gone. Our trip up the coast went smoothly and we arrived at the Timber Cove Inn in the early afternoon. I chose this place because classically, 5 years is the "wooden year" and this place is full of structures made of timber.
Our room faced the ocean cove and we could see the coastline and hear the waves crashing on the rocks below from our balcony. It also came with an indoor fireplace and a bucket of champagne. After checking in, we took a walk around the property, got some shots of the totem pole, and watched the sunset from the outdoor firepit with Howard et al.

Dinner at Zero Zero
KL and I FINALLY made it over to Zero Zero for dinner (after meeting up at Chez Papa Resto) and it was a definite step up from the restaurant that was there before. The entire place has been remodeled, but the staircase leading up thankfully remains. The salad and pasta dish we split have a lot of potential - the salad had too many croutons and the pasta was pretty salty. The drinks were very good and the bartenders were super friendly and entertaining. We met the owner and relayed our experience to him and will definitely be back! Afterwards, we chatted with D&L and headed over to their place to catch up.

AR Birthday Get Together
About 12 people ventured out into the super cold and foggy night to attend a birthday celebration for AR that began at the California Academy of Sciences. A few of us were able to get into the rather dull and mistake prone planetarium show that I would have rather missed. We then headed over to a fantastic little Burmese restaurant where I had a basil beef entree that has to be one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. The samusas were awesome too! And, AR couldn't wait to try on the new Jessica Simpson red pumps we got him!!
