2500 Year Old Text Uncovered in Portugal
A stone tablet that reveals more about an ancient text called Southwest or Tartessian Script was uncovered in Portugal about a year ago. Even though people have been studying the text for almost 200 years, they still have trouble deciphering the text. The tablets are thought to have been used for funerary purposes. Interestingly, the writing goes from right to left or in a spiral pattern. Those wacky people in Portugal! I can't imagine chiseling away on these stone tablets as a way of communicating on a daily basis. Also, you better be sure to not make a mistake or your tablet (and probably your day) is ruined! More on the script is on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartessian_script
