The Ramaytush were American Indians that lived in what is now our SOMA neighborhood. The city has put up brass plaques on the sidewalks in the area commemorating their language and with the hope of preserving it.

We had a great time having some margaritas and appetizers with MH, TZL, and MAM at Tropisueno yesterday afternoon. But, the best part was the Chupa Chups that they brought out to us with the check! I remember first having those delicious little lollipops in Thailand! Afterwards, we trotted over to Nova (worst decision) and then Ozone Thai for some very good Thai food with RN too. I should have gone with my instincts and listened to the Chupa Chups!
We went in with a group of 7 people to Nova and we looking forward to a great night out. Unfortunately, we found a piece of a latex glove in our mac and cheese appetizer and immediately complained. The initial response was pretty good and they offered to get us a dish and a pretty nice ($70) bottle of wine for free. But, as the feeling of the nastiness set in, all of us decided that we were too grossed out to eat there. So, we told the server and the bartender (the only people working) and their response was unreal. The bartender proceeded to ask us what our problem was since the glove is "sanitary." Um, yeah, it's really sanitary when it's been on someone's hand and then ripped off. I want her to put a sanitary glove in her mouth and tell me how sanitary it tastes. She even proceeded to call the owner and then gave us all this attitude about the situation too. We should have just left, but we actually paid for all of our drinks first (over $100). We live in the neighborhood and used to love going here, but will never be back. Worst restaurant experience ever - if I could give negative stars for service and response to a bad situation, I would.

Not only is she apparently running from reality, but puts the blames on everyone else! Sounds like a winner to me!
This was a funny, but insightful question posed by Werner Herzog in his documentary on Antartica "Encounters at the End of the World." He also gets into a conversation with a penguin expert on if they exhibit behavior resembling threesomes or prostitution. The movie wasn't all about penguins and was more focused on the people that live there and their environment. But, one of the indelible images for me was the one penguin that did not head towards open water with the rest of the herd, but instead headed inland toward certain death.
We had a few people over to watch the Pacquiao-Cotto fight and, like the lasagna, it didn't disappoint! I had Manny winning in round 4 or 8, but will take his TKO win in 12. I think Mayweather should probably go back into retirement! I enjoy reading Dan Rafael's boxing column's and recaps, but he predicted Cotto winning in 11. Oh well, his column- just like Pacquiao -still rocks...
My first day of PT was Wednesday. I could barely bend my knee without it feeling like my kneecap was going to pop out again - even with the help of the Percoset. But, I made a little progress and on Friday I could bend it a little more. It feels like it will be a decade before I'm up and running around again!
