The Dark Ages Illuminated

I read this pretty cool story on the medical traditions of the Middle Ages.  The Pseudo-Apuleius herbal provides evidence that the Greek and Roman medical methods were not lost but, in fact, used during the Dark Ages.  It also provides examples of medical treatments that were used during this period of history that combined tradition, efficacy, and magic.  I am amazed at some of the recipes that were used!  I would not have wanted to be a patient back then!
