Galileo first peered out of a telescope back in 1609. And some Italian researchers are rebuilding a replica telescope to study exactly what he saw and how he made his observations back in the good ol' days of 20X magnification. Will the moon look like cheese? Other researchers are even interested in genotyping his eye (he died blind) to understand its physiology.
