It seems ridiculous to me that a guy that swindled grandmothers, retirees, families out of their entirement income would be free on bail to roam around in a $7 million townhome he doesn't even own, but yet a guy that steals some food to eat it stuck in jail indefinitely. Talk about a serious miscarriage of "pre-justice." I understand that the broke ass billionaire has connections that the poor person doesn't, but come on!! I know they are innocent until proven guilty, but this is such a travesty. Why can't the poor person be on electronic monitoring and stay at home?? At least living there is probably not as nice as jail as it is with Madeoff!! This story is just another example of how crazy a place like the US can be.
