Dance At Clubs All You Want And Don't Lose Your Hearing!

This team found that in mice an alteration in the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor could effectively turn down the noise the mice were hearing.  And even more importantly, after exposure to super loud noise (100 db) they had less permanent damage to their ears compared to the normal mice.  I think the mutant mice were found to be great dancers as well.  You should've seen them do the robot!  I know a few people like Tom Tom that would probably go for a little genetic alteration so they didn't have to wear fluorescent blue earplugs to the clubs every weekend!
