This recent study claims to show that kids with unpopular names are more likely to engage in criminal activity. They used a popularity name index as a tool for ranking popular names and correlating this number with crime. The results were independent of race but could be due to socioeconomic status, households run by one parent, etc. If this findings are true, I might have to re-think naming our first born "Kid Lightning."

Unpopular names lead to crime??
This recent study claims to show that kids with unpopular names are more likely to engage in criminal activity.
